Epsom horse racing tips and trends

Epsom racecourse’s 5 furlongs is often billed as one of the fastest in the world – blink and you’ll miss this one – The Epsom Dash, run at their two-day Derby Meeting each year.

In 2012 we saw a shock 50/1 winner when John Best’s Stone Of Folca, landed the prize, while in 2013 we saw the first winning favourite win for some time. The 2020 running was cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak, so the last winner we saw was in 2019 – Ornate, from the Dave Griffiths yard.

The average winning SP in the last 17 runnings is 16.5/1, so don’t be afraid to look further down the betting when trying to find the winner, while 13 of the last 18 winners came from stalls 8 or higher.

It’s also worth noting that Caspian Prince has landed three of the last 6 runnings , so if lining up again is a horse to certainly have on your radar.

We take a look at past winners, plus we’ve got more key trends and stats ahead of this 2021 renewal – this year run on Saturday 5th June.
